Novelty cakes have become increasing popular recently. People always ask how I qualified or learnt how to bake and decorate cakes. The answer is… I am a self taught baker. Trial and error, baking for many years and experience has helped me develop further. When I look back at the cakes I made 4/5 years ago it’s actually embarrassing!
Every novelty cake is a new challenge for me especially if I have not yet baked a specific design. I sometimes lie awake at night worrying about the cake I am going to bake the following day. So far I have not had any major problems, I do always love a challenge and the progression continues.
